RPCVHI has registered to participate in the Honolulu Pride Parade on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.
Participation in the annual Honolulu Pride Parade on Oct. 18, 2025 promotes the third goal of Peace Corps while also recognizing Peace Corps Volunteers of all ages, from all walks of life.
RPCVHI will have a float on a flat bed truck, holding a 5 ft high birthday cake (in recognition of President John F. Kennedy’s speech proposing the Peace Corps on Oct. 14, 1960, at the University of Michigan), decorated with flags from multiple nations.
RPCVHI would like to have 15 to 20 volunteers walk in the parade; walkers are encouraged to wear the native dress of their country of service. RPCVs may bring friends and family to participate in the parade.
The parade begins on Magic Island at 3 pm and ends at Kapiolani Park. The parade route is about a 3-mile walk from Magic Island down Kalākaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park.
Logistics:
- Carpooling is highly recommended as parking at Kapiolani Park/near the Waikiki Shell is limited.
- Parade participants should be dropped off at the Magic Island start by 3 pm.
- We will decorate the flatbed truck while waiting for the start of the parade.
More information will be available closer to the event date.
