RPCVHI Aloha Grants and aloha care package fund

v        RPCVHI launched the Aloha Grant program through the Peace Corps Partnership Program in 2008 to provide funding for community-initiated projects overseen by Peace Corps Volunteers serving around the world.

v        In 2016, the RPCVHI Board added the Aloha Care Package program.  Currently serving PCVs from Hawai'i can request a care package of needed supplies for their sites:  books, gardening equipment, educational materials are examples.

v        Since 2008, over $4000 in Aloha Grants have been awarded to PCVs from the state of Hawaii serving in Cambodia, Morocco, Niger, Guyana, Mali, Peru, Mongolia, St. Lucia, Senegal and most recently, in Madagascar.

v        Since 2016, Care packages of school supplies, educational materials, and Hawaiian products have been sent to Cambodia, Ukraine, Madagascar, Philippines, Rwanda, and

 Senegal. Madagascar, Nepal, and Zambia.

v        Funds that support the Aloha Grant and Aloha Care programs come from two sources: 

RPCVHI fundraisers:  Oktoberfest, T-shirt sales and  the International Calendar sales.

Raising funds for Aloha Grants and Aloha Care packages for currently serving PCVs from the state of Hawaii. In 2020, The Covid 19 virus forced the evacuation of all PCVs around the world. In October 2020, the PC Director announced that volunteers working in the Eastern Caribbean may be able to return in early 2021. Let us hope that all volunteers may return to service by mid 2021.

RPCVHI Membership dues cover administrative costs and Aloha Grant fundraising costs.  Fifty per cent (50%) of membership fees cover our Website fees,  Annual meeting and Annual picnic set up costs and office supplies for member mailings.  The other fifty per cent (50%) of membership dues is allocated to the Aloha Grant /Aloha Care package funds.

Individual RPCVHI membership dues are $20; Family membership is $30.

The RPCV International Calendars for 2021 will be available in mid-July. This is a popular item and are available annually.
